Look out for 'experts'!

Woah, it is the weekend again. Times flies man! Haha! Interesting week although it has not ended yet. Well first thing first, no idea whether the readers notice, on the day that I wrote three entries, my first entry was a blog entry on the Number 3. Why it keeps on appearing in our lives and video games. Haha, and it happened that on that day I wrote three blog entries. Mysterious, man!

Anyway, last night I went out with a good friend to Kino to make some purchase of books. Great harvest man, a book on financial planning in Singapore (time for me to have a proper, structured grounding in the Singapore investing and financial planning landscape), a book on training (yes, again I need a proper, structure grounding in conducting training) and a book on real estate investing (THIRD TIME!!! Yupz, I need a proper structure grounding in real estate investing). Hahahaha!

During dinner, we were chatting a bit and it came to the topic of seeking experts in the fields that we are concern with. I think as most of you who have read my previous blog would know. When it comes to seeking advice, I always advocate that you see whether the person have achieved what you want before actually taking his/her advice and bring it to action. For instance, if you want to be successful in real estate investing, you seek an expert who has made a lot of money in real estate investment and learn from him/her.

Funny thing is that, this is such a simple thing to follow and yet I actually fallen into the trap of taking advice from my good friends, when they themselves are not expert at all, judging by the results that they have. Haha! Looking back from now back to the past, I wonder how could I have been so 'stupid' to take the advice of my three friends. (Eh... How come THREE again?Argh!) Anyway, the problem has been settled and I now seek advice from someone who has visible results.

Anyway, the reason why I shared this blog is this. I vaguely remember someone who is very successful, in my opinions, said this, "The cheapest commodity in the world are advice." Why he said this, I can fully understand what it mean. Every time we share a problem with someone or a group of people, no matter what happens, whether it is flooding outside or suddenly snowing in Singapore (haha, just to show the 'seriousness' of my claims) someone after hearing it would give you their opinion and their advice. Haha. and it goes something like this "Well, if I were you, I would....." or "I think you should....." or something of similar nature.

So you see, we are never lack of advice. So the next stage would be to discern and see whose advice we can take and whose we cannot take. Only then can your friends 'advice' benefit you.

Weekend is here! Enjoy it while it last. Cheers!
