Job Hunt Scorecard

Well well, yesterday I went for two interviews. One is the second round interview of the company that gave me the first interview of my job hunt. The second interview was a recommendation from a trainee from the course that I conduct. Networking is useful right? Haha! Anyway, I came to know from the HR that for the position I was applying for in the first interview of the day, there are three more people vying for it. No idea does that 'three' include me or not'. But anyway, they said that they will let me know the result at the end of the week. So again, I just sit quietly in my 'Life' boat and flow with the Stream of Time to see which 'Job' pier I would reach lah. :) Well the second interview, the job scope is also more hands on as well, and most of the team members I know since they have come for my training as well. There would be a lot of things to learn as well and I heard that the chances of being offered a job are high. Again don't want to raise any expectations and just quietly flow with time.

When the newspaper says that the job market is very good now, I was quite skeptical until I receive a call for the second round of interview for the interview that I went on last FRIDAY!!! Yes, I receive a call for second round the day after my first round of interview. WOW!

Anyway, the two interviews that I attended was at CBD area, near the Singapore River. It has been a long time since I've been there. During the university days, when there are no lessons and I feel like taking a stroll during weekdays, I would take a break and walk from Shenton Way to Bugis Junction. During the walk, I would go to the Thian Hock Keng Temple where Confucius is and from there walk to the Singapore River, past the Cavenagh Bridge and walk towards Victoria Theatre, where the black Sir Stamford Raffles statue is. Walk past the High Court and the back of St Andrew's Cathedral. And from there walk towards Bugis Junction and then stop by at the Kwang Yin Temple, to pay respect to the Goddess of Mercy. I can tell you, walking this route during the weekday where everyone is rushing around and working while you are leisurely walking, the feeling is fantastic! You take in the sights of vibrant colors and the bustling sounds of the CBD area, you can feel more alive.

Yesterday, I took leisure stroll down the Singapore River again. Taking in the sights of the colorful warehouses-turned restaurants, the bum boats and also the sight of the Asian Civilisation Museum. You can see a lot of tourist there. Tourist from Indian, Korean, Philippines, Japanese, China and many more. It was fun and enjoyable to be doing it again.

Would love to have another opportunity to take the walk again during a weekday, to see what are the changes and the hidden secrets of the CBD area again.

Cheers!

All the best in finding the job you want!

Ya Singapore is too fast paced. I am feeling out of place sometimes.
