Back from USA, NYC

Hello all, apologies for taking so long to update my blog. Well have been back in Singapore for slightly more than a week, since I am back from New York City. Yes, I went to another country almost immediately after I come back from Vietnam. Haha, my friends and family members said that I am crazy to go for two trips within a short span of time. But hei I made it back although it is really very tiring to do it. At least I can claim that I have done some crazy stuff when I was young. Haha.

Well the NYC tour was quite successful although most people claim that it is not when I told them that I did not go to the Statue of Liberty and to the top of the Empire State Building. But I think it is quite successful but definitely it can be better. Why I said it is successful is because I was able to immerse into the culture of US, understand their culture and I love the architecture there. How modern buildings 'interweave' with old buildings. Their old buildings have great architecture and took many photos of it.

Over there the currency for coins they used are the following (something that is not surprising since I read a lot of Archie Comics which is typically the embodiment of US culture): Quarters (25 Cents), dimes (10 Cents), 5 cents and pennies (1 cent). Can you imagine a Singaporean who is so used to the 50,20, 10,5 cents having to check whether we receive the change correctly, or using their coins to pay them correctly.

They also have a buffet style cafeteria but take note, you do not pay one lump sum and take all you want. The way they charge for food is you take all you want and put them on the weighing machine and you pay accordingly. Yes. That is the way they charge which I think is good for individuals. If you are a big eater you pay more, instead of a buffet style where the small eater ends up subsidising the big eaters. (Something coming from a big eater must be shocking rite? =P)

Well, I would love to go back to New York again but maybe I should throw in other cities as well and most importantly is to make sure I go in a conducive weather. I went at a time when it is winter entering spring but it was quite cold. The temperature does not give the full picture of the weather there. The wind makes everything very cold. The minute I step out of the hotel, my eyes start to water because it dry up very fast. I was wearing so much clothings on myself and was walking most of the time so it was very tedious. So yes, the next time I go there would be either spring or summer. I rather be too hot then too cold =P.

Ok have to end here, starting my MBA course soon, yes, I am going back to studying. I know there would be a lot of reading but I did not expect that much when I got the course materials for ONE module, my starting module =S. I will become more busy so I guess might not update my blog that often. Will try my best to update whenever possible.
